The Office of Tourism writes articles and pitches topics to media sources. See below for a list of upcoming topics. If you have offerings (including photography) relevant to any of these topics, please send us a note.
We want to promote hiking and the towns (including accommodations and restaurants) that are perfect for hiking getaways. We want to focus on towns that have particular trails nearby, like Kent and the Appalachian Trail. If your town is on a particular trail, and you love hikers, please let us know. Especially if you have photos.

We know a lot of Connecticut towns organize shopping nights. The stores and galleries stay open late, offer food and drink, and make it an event. This article will be a round-up of some of these events. Please let us know if your town has such an event, when it is, and what makes it special. Big advantage if you have photos!!!

Fall is romantic. We’d like to suggest several itineraries for short, romantic getaways in the fall. Have some good ideas that include your business? Please let us know.

Customers are always looking for “things to do”. We want to give them a list, by month, of great ideas, organized by type of experience, such as Family Fun, Active Adventure, Arts & Culture, Culinary Experiences. We will include activities that are particularly relevant in the month, and big events that recur each year around the same time. We will also include a few things that may not be that season-specific, but just feel a little more relevant at this time of year. Please let us know if you have relevant offerings for this month. Especially if you have photos.

This article, intended to have particular appeal to Millennials, will be about taking a health-break/getaway for yourself. We want to feature places to stay with well-ness businesses nearby that offer slightly less common self-care opportunities. We are interested in things like: forest bathing, meditation labyrinths, IV therapy, sunrise Tai Chi, or similar. We would like to push the overnight angle on this, but the activities don’t have to be run by the accommodation, just easily accessible and mentioned together. If your business has a relevant offering, either on your own or in partnership with a nearby business, please let us know.
