With its long history and many rivers and streams, Connecticut has always found a challenge in getting from one side of the water to the other. First came the ferries, but then came the bridges, and they kept on coming until all the rivers were adequately crossed. Who doesn’t love a long weekend? It gives us an extra day to rest, play or get away – and in 2020, it seems we have Leap Day to thank for more time to celebrate. This extra day in the year has rearranged our calendar to create three more long weekends and puts holidays like Valentine’s Day and Halloween on Fridays or Saturdays.
