Summer in Connecticut erupts with color, from carefully tended gardens to wild grown fields and forest trails. In June, the roses make their entrance. In July, the rhododendrons and lavender take center stage. And in August the sunflowers provide the grand finale. Here are a few of the biggest and best viewing opportunities, as well as some suggestions for other places in Connecticut also beginning to bloom. Remember, Connecticut’s Historic Gardens Day is June 23, so be sure to check for locations celebrating throughout the state.
